Our Pastor

My sense of being called by God and the church to ministry...

My sense of call to pastoral ministry goes back a long way. I am always intrigued with the Mystery that is God. I'm passionate about worship and a sense of belonging to a faith community. Each setting of the church where I've been has guided me to see the hand of the Living God wherever I am. I've pastored very conservative and very liberal churches and understand many points of view, My sense of calling is to help others know that they are a spiritual being having a human experience, that they are the beloved child of God. The Good News is to be shared with all creation. I am always learning, reading, and seeking guidance to help others in their ministry as modern-day disciples,

My sense of covenant...

Having grown up and ordained in a hierarchical church, the acceptance of the polity of the United Church of Christ was refreshing if not easily comprehensible. My understanding and appriciation of our polity jelled when I attended General Synod in 2007. There, the various settings of the church, national, conference/association, and local, manifested themselves seamlessly. My belief in the priesthood of all believers is strong. I love the idea of covenant. With covenant there ia a mutuality of ministry and expectation of behavior. We are accountable to one another. With Christ as our head, we are each members of the one body with different skills, talents, and passions. We are here to build up the Body of Christ together as well as to help one another journey as the temple of the Holy Spirit. We are to work collaboratively affirming one another's many gifts.

Some passions...

I am pasionate about three main things in our faith journey:

1. Worshipping the Living God

2. Education to be compassionate people of faith and disciples of Christ

3. Developing a sense of community within the congregation and beyond

I do believe that God is Still-speaking.

I wholeheartedly affirm that: No matter who you are or where you are in your life's journey, you are welcomed here!

We aren't all on the same page and doubt is not the opposite of faith, certainty is.

I love to tell the story of Jesus and his glory in both new and old ways.

Protecting our home planet is simply an extension of loving and worshipping the Creator.
